What this is about
Fourth shake in the test series, second from the Milkshake Style line: Vanilla Chocolate Chip Cookie. After the Strawberry Yoghurt Split expectations were subdued, but vanilla and cookie sound at first like a combination where little can go wrong.
It went wrong.
The nutritional values

On this tub the per-portion column was fully legible — on the Yoghurt Split it was unreadable in the photo and had to be calculated.

The comparison with the Yoghurt Split shows where the differences lie: 9.0 instead of 7.1 g of carbohydrates per 100 g, but 77 instead of 80 g of protein. Per portion that is 2.7 instead of 2.1 g of carbohydrates — little in both cases.
The per-portion column is instructive: fat and fibre are higher than in the plain powder. That comes from the almond drink, not from the product. Anyone preparing it with water ends up with different figures.
How it tasted



Prepared as always: twice through the frother.
The consistency is very thick — considerably more so than the Yoghurt Split. That is a matter of taste; for us it was too much.
Vanilla comes through. You can even see it in the powder, and small pieces are visible in the finished shake. The cookie pieces with chocolate are visible too, not just on the label. In that respect the product delivers what the ingredient list promises.
The problem is the overall impression: the shake tastes stale. Not spoiled, but flat — as if it had been standing for a while, although it was freshly prepared. This shows most clearly on the finish, which tastes of an old biscuit. Not an off-flavour you could name, but a tired aftertaste that lingers.
Our rating: 4 out of 10. The lowest score of the series so far.

Both iced coffee flavours convinced us, neither Milkshake Style flavour did. That is a striking pattern — but four products and two people are no basis for a verdict on an entire product line. It may come down to the coffee content, which carries aromas and cushions sweetness. It may come down to our taste. It may be coincidence.
What can be said: on a repeat order we would reach for the iced coffee line.
My blood sugar course
Drunk in the late morning, logged as a meal. Twelve minutes later the first of two Peloton sessions began — so the shake did not stand alone for long.

All values stayed within the target range.
What the curve shows — and what it does not
Little can be said about the shake itself. In the twelve minutes between drinking and the start of training, the value rose by 6 mg/dL, from 138 to 144. That is small, but twelve minutes are too short for a conclusion: the glucose response to a meal typically peaks only after 30 to 60 minutes. A comparison with the Yoghurt Split (+22 mg/dL over 45 minutes without training) is therefore not admissible.
On top of that: my value was already rising that morning before the shake, from around 120 mg/dL at 09:00 to 138 at 11:44. The starting point was not a quiet plateau.
The training effect, by contrast, is clear. During the first ride the value fell from 144 to 87 mg/dL — around 57 mg/dL in roughly 35 minutes. That is the steepest drop I have recorded in this test series. That moderate to intense movement increases glucose uptake into muscle is well documented .
The rebound afterwards is the more interesting observation. From 87 mg/dL it went back up to 115 and then 118 during and after ride 2 — even though training continued. Two explanations come into question : after a low point, hormonal counter-regulation sets in and releases glucose from the liver. And intense interval work — a rock ride is not a steady base ride — can raise the value via catecholamines rather than lower it, unlike even endurance loading.
Which of the two mechanisms dominates here cannot be derived from a single recording . It is a single-case observation, not proof.
What remains open
- Repeat without training, with at least three hours of observation. Only then is the flavour comparable with the Yoghurt Split.
- Intensity comparison: a steady endurance ride against a rock ride, each after the same shake. The rebound suggests intensity plays a role — but that is not demonstrated in my case.
- Preparation with water instead of almond drink, because the fat comes almost entirely from the almond drink.
