The idea behind it
I want to make two things visible: first, that continuous training over months does more than any single perfect week, and second, how that shows up concretely in my numbers. For this I combine two pillars:
- Endurance, regular cycling on the Peloton (including live rides and personal records).
- Strength, the gym during the week as a supplement, because more muscle mass supports insulin sensitivity long-term.
This is accompanied by my CGM (FreeStyle Libre 3), which shows me the time in range: for me the most honest everyday metric.
The plan for the series
Instead of an endless report, the documentation appears as a series in editions. Each edition is short and focused. This page here stays the overview and is updated monthly.
The metrics I track
- Training: kilometres, time, watts/output, personal records (bike); sessions and focus areas (strength).
- Time in range (TIR): the share of CGM values in the target range: my most important everyday metric.
- Weight & body composition: the trend over the months (see also Losing weight & body composition).
- HbA1c: the long-term lab value, as soon as new checks are available (see HbA1c explained).
Key takeaways
- Long-term documentation (n=1) since February 2026, honest, not a controlled study, no promise of cure.
- Two pillars: endurance (Peloton) + strength (gym).
- Most important metric: time in range from the CGM; plus training, weight, HbA1c.
- Appears as a series in monthly editions – this page stays the overview.
- Goal: to hold type 2 diabetes in remission without medication.
